Ava, MO (August 1, 2023) – Missouri Ozarks Community Health is proud to announce the hiring of Tanya Calhoun, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. Calhoun joined the Ava clinic in June 2023 and will begin serving patients in August 2023. “Tanya is coming to us with several years of experience and wonderful patient and professional feedback. She will be a wonderful addition to our team,” said Jennifer Heinlein, Chief Operations Officer at Missouri Ozarks Community Health.
Calhoun said she is excited to provide pediatric rural care at Missouri Ozarks Community Health. “I have lived in the Ozarks with my family for my entire life,” said Calhoun. “So, I love that I am now able to serve this population and provide rural care to those who need it most.”
“Pediatric care is something that we have determined is very needed locally and we are extremely excited to begin offering this service,” said Heinlein. “This will be a perfect transition from our prenatal care services directly over into pediatric care.” Calhoun will offer several primary care services for pediatric patients in Ava. Among those services are routine well visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, and sports physicals. Providers at Missouri Ozarks Community Health are also available if your child gets sick.
Tanya Calhoun attended Cox College of Nursing before attending Missouri State University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Tanya worked in labor & delivery at a hospital for a few years but has worked in pediatrics for the last 20 years.
